As a way of introduction, and to give you better sense of where I'm coming from - here is some of my underlying thinking:
- I believe that the artist is the voice of the people.
- I believe that this voice is becoming more and more powerful.
- I believe that the arts have the capacity to shift consciousness in a profound way - and that we are at the very beginning of a new historical period, marked by a vitality of creative thinking, ideas and solutions.
- I believe that the demarkations between the arts, sciences and spirituality are breaking down - and that we are flowing towards a greater understanding and appreciation of who and what we are as creative human beings.
- I believe that music has a special place to play in this process, and I want to be a major contributor in this.
- I believe in an international and inter-faith approach to the world and to the development of creative ideas.
- I believe that our collective security is based upon this foundation - that people who create together for common goals, have greater understanding, don't go to war, don't abuse one another, and certainly don't terrorize one another.
- I also believe that our focus should be on what we can create rather than what we defend, because that state of mind will bring more and more extraordinary art and life into manifestation.
